Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to find the truck, read the menu and get in touch, whatever device or assistive technology they use. Accessibility is something we build in rather than bolt on afterwards.

Standard we aim for

This site is built to target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is the standard most commonly referenced in the United States, including in relation to the Americans with Disabilities Act.

What we have done

  • Semantic HTML structure with a single main landmark and a logical heading order on every page.
  • A skip link so keyboard users can jump straight past the navigation to the content.
  • Every meaningful image carries descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • All interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline.
  • The mobile menu button reports its state to assistive technology and can be closed with the Escape key.
  • Text and background colours are chosen to meet AA contrast ratios.
  • Text reflows without horizontal scrolling down to a 320 pixel wide screen, and respects browser zoom.
  • Motion, including the driving truck animation on the home page, is disabled automatically for visitors whose system is set to reduce motion.
  • Content does not rely on colour alone to convey meaning, and nothing on the site flashes.
  • Form fields have visible, properly associated labels.

Known limitations

The map on our Find Us page is embedded from Google Maps, and we do not control its internal accessibility. If it gives you trouble, our full address is written out in text directly beside it, and we are glad to give directions over the phone.

Menu photography comes from a working kitchen rather than a studio, so image quality varies. Every dish is also described in text so the photograph is never the only source of information.

Tell us if something does not work

If any part of this site is difficult to use, we want to hear about it, and we will fix it. Contact us and describe the problem and the page it happened on:

We aim to respond within a few business days. If you need information from this site in another format, ask and we will provide it.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is not a one-off task. We review the site as we add to it, and this statement is updated when things change.
